9th International Symposium and Workshop of Magnetic Dentistry were held in Hiroshima, Japan in July, 2008.
More than 150 doctors were participated from all over the world.
The theme: Clinical Application of Magnetic Attachments to Implant-supported Overdentures. At the panel discussion, attendances discussed about effectiveness of Magnetic Attachments for implant overdentures and issued summaries.



Summary of Symposium

(1) Implant overdentures are a very effective treatment options for edentulous patients.


(2) Different kinds of attachments are available with specific advantages and disadvantages Evaluation of these attachments should be performed with various clinical indexes and long-term observation using patients centered and other objective measurements.


(3) Magnetic attachments have overcome previously reported clinical problems, such as corrosion, screw loosening and reduction of retentive force through recent technological improvements.
